Freenome, a portfolio company in CEC Capital Group’s Healthcare Fund, completes Series C financing of USD 270 million

Freenome, a portfolio company in CEC Capital Group’s Healthcare Fund, announced today that it has completed its Series C financing round of USD 270 million. The financing round was led by Bain Capital and Perceptive Advisors.


Freenome was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in San Francisco. In 2017 and 2019, Freenome completed USD 65 million and USD 160 million in Series A and B financings, respectively. Freenome aims to develop simple and accurate blood testing methods to detect and screen early-stage cancers.


CEC Capital Group, an early investor in Freenome, is one of China’s leading investment banks, focusing on three major industries including TMT, consumer and healthcare. In addition to its investment banking practice, CEC Capital Group manages both an RMB fund and a USD fund. The company is headquartered in Beijing, with offices in Shanghai. Its US affiliate, China eCapital Partners, LLC, has offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco.


CEC Capital Group’s Healthcare Fund has participated in the investment of many well-known domestic and foreign companies, including Miss Fresh, Arrail Dental, Universal Medical Imaging, and Sanbo Brain. The Healthcare Fund currently operates out of offices in Beijing and Shanghai.
